Bath, Cirencester, Oxford, Warwick Castle and Shakespeare's Stratford-on-Avon are all easily accessible. The beautiful Cotswold Hills with picturesque villages, cosy tea shops and friendly pubs, are nearby. Cheltenham is a lovely Regency Spa town, excellent for shopping, and the historic riverside town of Evesham are each only 8 miles away. There are many National Trust properties in the area, including Hidcote Manor Gardens and Snowshill Manor.
WALKING
As well as many short walks in the Cotswolds countryside, the Wardens Way, Windrush Way, Wychavon Way and Cotswold Way are all close. John will be happy to provide information and insights into all the local walks. For those wishing to stray further, the Brecon Beacons and Forest of Dean are within reach.
BIRDWATCHING Alderton Hill, the Cotswolds Scarp and Bredon Hill have wooded areas where many varieties of birds can be seen, including Buzzards and the occasional Red Kite. Ashleworth Hay is on the Severn flood plain (managed by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust) to see Waders and Lapwings.
